Taeniospira emminencis was named by Ulrich et al. (1931) [E.O. Ulrich & J. Bridge in ]. It is not extant. It is the type species of Taeniospira.

It was recombined as Sinuopea emminencis by Wagner (1999) and Wagner (2023).
