Iguana europaea

Iguana europaea was named by Hoffstetter (1942). Its type specimen is BMNH No. 32 840a, a set of vertebrae (dorsal vertebrae), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hordle Cliff Mammal Beds, which is in a MP 17A/MP 17B terrestrial horizon in the Headon Hill Formation of the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Plesiolacerta.

It was recombined as Plesiolacerta lydekkeri by Hoffstetter (1942) and Augé (2005).
