Taxonomy
Cynohyaenodon magnus was named by Crochet (1988). Its type specimen is BRT 939, a maxilla (portion of a right maxilla with 3 teeth), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Le Bretou, which is in a Bartonian karst phosphorite in France.
