Castillomys crusafonti was named by Michaux (1969). It is not extant. Its type specimen is IPS Ly-1311, a maxilla (sin. with M1-M3).

Mein 1991 | Castillomys of medium size. m1 and m2 with a longitudinal spur, which froms a crest in 50% to 90% of the specimens. m2 generally without posterior heel or with a reduced one. In the upper molars t1 develops a lingual longitudinal crest in more than half the M1 and in somewhat less than half the M2. The majoritiy of the M1 have a labial longitudinal crest (t3-t5). In M2 the t3 is generally isolated. |
