Taxonomy
Kindleia fragosa was named by Jordan (1927). Its type specimen is NMC 8533.

It was misspelled as Cyclurus fragosa by Lillegraven and Eberle (1999); it was recombined as Cyclurus fragosus by Grande and Bemis (1998) and Hoganson et al. (2019).
