Taxonomy
Richardoestesia isosceles was named by Sankey (2001). Its type specimen is LSUMGS 489:6238, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is LSUMG 489, Talley Mountain, which is in a Campanian/Campanian channel lag conglomerate in the Aguja Formation of Texas.
It was synonymized subjectively with Richardoestesia gilmorei by Longrich (2008).
