Taxonomy
Solarium scrobiculatum was named by Conrad (1833). It is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Patulaxis.

It was recombined as Architectonica scrobiculata by Palmer and Brann (1966) and Kosnik (2002); it was recombined as Patulaxis scrobiculata by Beu and Raine (2009).
