Bathytormus protexta

Taxonomy
Crassatella protexta was named by Conrad (1832) [DISTRIBUTION: Paleogene; Gulf Coastal Plain. m. kosnik taxon no: 7002]. It is extant. Its type specimen is ANSP 30520, a shell.

It was recombined as Crassatellites protextus by Harris (1919); it was recombined as Bathytormus protexta by Stewart (1930) and Woodring (1982); it was recombined as Crassatellites protexta by Cooke (1936); it was recombined as Bathytormus protextus by Wingard (1993) and CoBabe and Allmon (1994).
