Taxonomy
Cypraea (Bistolida) was named by Cossmann (1920) [m. kosnik taxon no: 7866]. It is extant. It is the type subgenus of Bistolidini.

It was reranked as Bistolida by Dolin (1991), Meyer (2003) and Soriano (2006).

It was assigned to Cypraeidae by Dolin (1991); to Cypraea by Wilson (1993); to Bistolidini by Meyer (2003); and to Bistolidinae by Soriano (2006).
