Taxonomy
Crassatellites hodgei was named by Stephenson (1923) [DISTRIBUTION: Campanian; Gulf Coastal Plain.]. Its type specimen is USNM 31930, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Crassatella hodgei by Wingard (1993) and Wingard (1993).

Synonyms
  • Crassatellites roodensis was named by Stephenson (1923) [DISTRIBUTION: Campanian; Gulf Coastal Plain.]. Its type specimen is USNM 31748, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

    It was synonymized subjectively with Crassatella hodgei by Wingard (1993).
