Taxonomy

Cynarina was named by Brüggemann (1877) [m. kosnik taxon no: 11161]. It is extant.

It was assigned to Mussidae by Veron (2000); and to Lobophylliidae by Dai and Horng (2009).

C. ampla, C. lacrymalis (syn. Acanthophyllia deshayesiana, Sclerophyllia margariticola)

Synonyms

Acanthophyllia was named by Wells (1937) [Sepkoski's age data: T Mi-m R]. It is extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Cynarina by Kiessling (2014).

It was assigned to Mussidae by Wells (1956); to Cyathophyllidae by Hill (1981); and to Scleractinia by Sepkoski (2002).
