Taxonomy
Cypraea isabella was named by Linnaeus (1758) [DISTRIBUTION: Pliocene-Recent; west Pacific. COMMENTS: m. kosnik taxon no: 10473]. It is extant. It is the type species of Basilitrona.

It was recombined as Basilitrona isabella by Iredale (1930), Steadman and Cotton (1943) and Steadman and Cotton (1946); it was recombined as Cypraea (Talparia) isabella by Ladd (1934); it was recombined as Luria (Basilitrona) isabella by Schilder (1941) and Coen (1949); it was recombined as Cypraea (Luria) isabella by Ladd (1977); it was recombined as Luria isabellae by Jung (1989); it was recombined as Luria isabella by Rosenberg et al. (2006).
