Palaeocypraea nuciformis

Taxonomy
Cypraea nuciformis was named by Stephenson (1941) [m. kosnik taxon no: 2353]. Its type specimen is USNM 76988, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS 00761, which is in a Maastrichtian marine horizon in the Nacatoch Sand Formation of Texas.

It was recombined as Palaeocypraea (Palaeocypraea) suecica nuciformis by Schilder and Schilder (1971); it was recombined as Palaeocypraea (Palaeocypraea) nuciformis by Groves (1990); it was recombined as Palaeocypraea nuciformis by Groves et al. (2011).
