Taxonomy
Davila was named by Gray (1853) [m. kosnik taxon no: 8392]. It is the type genus of Davilinae.

It was assigned to Mesodesmatidae by Lamprell and Whitehead (1992); and to Davilinae by Vokes (1980) and Signorelli and Carter (2016).
