Dexiobiinae was named by Newell and LaRocque (1969) [m. kosnik taxon no: 7331].

It was assigned to Praecardiidae by Vokes (1980); to Antipleuroidea by Nevesskaja (2009); and to Dualinidae by Bouchet et al. (2010).
