Taxonomy
Etheriidae was named by Deshayes (1830) [m. kosnik taxon no: 5134]. It is extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Mulleriidae by Bouchet et al. (2010).

It was assigned to Unionacea by Newell (1965) and Vokes (1980); to Etherioidea by Bieler and Mikkelsen (2006) and Nevesskaja (2009); and to Mullerioidea by Carter et al. (2011).
