Taxonomy
Gaimardiidae was named by Hedley (1916) [m. kosnik taxon no: 5170]. It is extant.

It was assigned to Gaimardiacea by Vokes (1980) and Stilwell and Zinsmeister (1992); and to Gaimardioidea by Nevesskaja (2009) and Carter et al. (2011).
