Taxonomy
Wentzelellites was named by Wu (1963) [Sepkoski's age data: P Leon-u P Djhu]. It is not extant. Its type is Wentzelella sicula.

It was assigned to Wentzelellinae by Hill (1981); and to Rugosa by Sepkoski (2002).
