Taxonomy
Wentzelellites was named by Wu (1963) [Sepkoski's age data: P Leon-u P Djhu]. It is not extant. Its type is Wentzelella sicula.

It was assigned to Rugosa by Sepkoski (2002); and to Wentzelellinae by Minato and Kato (1965), Hill (1981) and Wang et al. (2006).
