Wentzelella (Wentzelloides) was named by Yabe and Minato (1944) [Sepkoski's age data: P Leon-u P Djhu Sepkoski's reference number: 893]. It is not extant.

It was reranked as Wentzelloides by Hill (1981) and Sepkoski (2002).

It was assigned to Wentzelella by Yabe and Minato (1944); to Wentzelellinae by Hill (1981); and to Rugosa by Sepkoski (2002).
