Taxonomy
Gyrodes (Hypterita) robsauli was named by Popenoe et al. (1987) [m. kosnik taxon no: 9662]. Its type specimen is UCLA 59782 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCLA loc. 5902, Oil Canyon, which is in a Maastrichtian marine horizon in the Panoche Formation of California.
