Taxonomy
Gyrodes robustus was named by Waring (1917) [m. kosnik taxon no: 10094]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Martinez area in the Simi Hills (Locality 4 of Waring 1917), which is in an Eocene marine horizon in the Martinez Formation of California.
