Taxonomy
Lahilliidae was named by Finlay and Marwick (1937) [m. kosnik taxon no: 5150].

It was misspelled as Lahillidae by Chiesa et al. (1995), Stilwell et al. (2004) and Nevesskaja (2009); it was reranked as the subfamily Lahilliinae by Schneider (1995) and Carter et al. (2011).

It was assigned to Cardiacea by Vokes (1980), Stilwell and Zinsmeister (1992) and Chiesa et al. (1995); to Cardioidea by Stilwell et al. (2004) and Nevesskaja (2009); and to Cardiidae by Schneider (1995) and Carter et al. (2011).
