Zenophila was named by Hill (1940) [Sepkoski's age data: S Ludl]. It is not extant.

It was corrected as Zenophilia by Sepkoski (2002).

It was assigned to Spongophyllidae by Hill (1956); to Arachnophyllidae by Hill (1981); to Rugosa by Strusz and Garratt (1999); and to Rugosa by Sepkoski (2002).
