Milthoidea was named by Marwick (1931) [m. kosnik taxon no: 9576].

It was corrected as Miltheoidea by Chavan (1961); it was synonymized subjectively with Miltha by Vokes (1969).

It was assigned to Lucinidae by Chavan (1961); and to Milthinae by Vokes (1980).
