Taxonomy
Mesomorpha was named by Pratz (1883) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Ladi-u T Than-l Sepkoski's reference number: 796,837]. It is not extant. Its type is Porites mammillata.

It was assigned to Thamnasteriidae by Roniewicz (1976) and Beauvais (1986); to Scleractinia by Sepkoski (2002); and to Curtoseriidae by Baron-Szabo (2006).
