Taxonomy
Neoleptonidae was named by Thiele (1934) [m. kosnik taxon no: 5166]. It is extant.

It was assigned to Cyamiacea by Newell (1965) and Vokes (1980); to Galeommatacea by Beu et al. (1990); to Cyamioidea by Coan et al. (2000), Rosenberg (2005) and Nevesskaja (2009); and to Veneroidea by Bouchet et al. (2010).
