Taxonomy
Palaeotrochacea was named by Knight (1956) [m. kosnik taxon no: 10021; ]. Its type is Palaeotrochidae.

It was synonymized subjectively with Paraturbinoidea by Golikov and Starobogatov (1975); it was corrected as Palaeotrochoidea by Bouchet et al. (2005) and Wagner (2017).

It was assigned to Archaeogastropoda by Knight et al. (1960); to Neritopsina by Jeffery (2003); to Neritimorpha by Bouchet et al. (2005); and to Euomphalina by Wagner (2017).
