Pseudoliva perspectiva was named by Conrad (1860) [Conrad in Gabb m. kosnik taxon no: 7120 m. kosnik taxon no: 1396].

It was recombined as Sulcobuccinum vetusta perspectiva by Kosnik (2002); it was recombined as Pseudoliva vetusta perspectiva by Harris and Palmer (1947), Kosnik (2002) and Kosnik (2002).
