Taxonomy
Synallactidae was named by Ludwig (1894) [m. kosnik taxon no: 10552]. It is extant. It was considered monophyletic by Kerr and Kim (2001).

It was assigned to Holothuroidea by Rowe and Gates (1995); and to Aspidochirotida by Frizzell and Exline (1966), Pawson (1966), Gilliland (1993), Boczarowski (2001), Kerr and Kim (2001) and Reich (2010).
