Coryphyllia was named by Cuif (1974) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Carn-l J Plie-u Sepkoski's reference number: 682,919,920]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Coryphylliidae by Beauvais (1986); to Coryphylliinae by Roniewicz (1989); and to Scleractinia by Sepkoski (2002).
