Micrabacia was named by Milne-Edwards (1849) [Sepkoski's age data: K Barr R Sepkoski's reference number: 2 No living represantatives of this genus are known (W. Kiessling)]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Micrabaciidae by Wells (1956); and to Scleractinia by Sepkoski (2002).
