Taxonomy
Allorisma was named by King (1844) [eliminated by Wilson (1959)].

It was replaced with Wilkingia by Wilson (1959).

It was assigned to Pelecypoda by Hall (1852); to Edmondiidae by Morris et al. (1991); and to Allorismatidae by Bouchet et al. (2010).
