Taxonomy
Archaeopus mexicanus was named by Schweitzer et al. (2002). Its type specimen is UNAM IGM-7953 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ensenada Decapods, which is in a Campanian/Maastrichtian marine siliciclastic in the Rosario? Formation of Mexico.
