Ruedemannia (Batteniella) calvata was named by Mawson et al. (2002). Its type specimen is AMF 118264. Its type locality is Bed 16B Section Q Right flank of Limestone Creek, Windellama, which is in a Lochkovian carbonate limestone in the Windellama Formation of Australia.
