Dermoseris was named by Koby (1887) [Sepkoski's age data: J m K Maes Sepkoski's reference number: 183]. It is not extant. Its type is Dermoseris guebhardi.
It was assigned to Microsolenidae by Roniewicz (1976); and to Scleractinia by Sepkoski (2002).
