J. L. Franzen and H. Haubold 1986 | Skull-length 200-250 mm, between P. voigti and P. argentonicum, phylogenetically between Propachynolophus gaudryi (LEMOINE, 1878) and Propalaeotherium isslanum. In comparison to P. isslanum molars more brachyobunodont. Mesostyle on upper molars present, usually weaker than those of P. isslanum. Posterolingual the upper premolars, especially upper P4, often strongly shortened, so the tooth has a nearly triangular horizontal outline. In comparison to P. isslanum postprotocristid and posthypocristid are clearer lophs. Entoconid of lower P4 weaker than that of P. isslanum, or completely absent. Lower P1 with two roots. Teeth robuster than those of P. isselanum. Limbs are broader and shorter compared to P. parvulum and P. voigti (especially the feet): feet not as short than that of P. isslanum. |
