Taxonomy
Polygnathus rossicus was named by Zhuravlev (2000). Its type specimen is CNIGR Museum 41/13003. Its type locality is Ilmen Lake lower part of Ilmen Beds, which is in a Devonian open shallow subtidal mixed carbonate-siliciclastic/packstone in the Rdeyskoe Formation of the Russian Federation.
