Gilmoreosaurus mongoliensis
Taxonomy
Mandschurosaurus mongoliensis was named by Gilmore (1933). Its type specimen is AMNH FARB 30735 (part of AMNH 6551), a set of postcrania (complete right ilium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is AMNH quarry 149, Iren Dabasu, which is in a Campanian/Campanian terrestrial horizon in the Iren Dabasu Formation of China. It is the type species of Gilmoreosaurus, Mandschurosaurus.
It was synonymized subjectively with Bactrosaurus johnsoni by Tatarinov (1964), Taquet (1975) and Rozhdestvensky (1977); it was recombined as Gilmoreosaurus mongoliensis by Brett-Surman (1979), Maryanska and Osmólska (1981), Weishampel and Weishampel (1983), Weishampel and Horner (1990), Weishampel et al. (1991), Horner (1992), Currie and Eberth (1993), Nessov (1995), Godefroit et al. (1998), Casanovas et al. (1999), Horner et al. (2004), Godefroit et al.
