Diagnosis

---|---|---|
K. S. Brink et al. 2014 | Lambeosaurine hadrosaurid dinosaur characterized by a cranial crest comprised predominantly of the caudolateral process of the premaxilla in lateral view that is elongate and lingulate in shape. The caudolateral process contribution to the crest is longer than tall, with a slightly convex dorsal margin. It differs from Corythosaurus in that the caudolateral process of premaxilla is not divided into distinct cranial and rostral lobes. It differs from Lambeosaurus in the following features: sloping facial profile with apex of crest above orbit; caudal margin of crest formed predominantly by nasal; nasal with rostral bifurcation; caudodorsal process of premaxilla without accessory rostroventral flange overlapping the lateral surface of nasal in rostral region of crest; incomplete enclosure of ophthalmic canal. It differs from H. altispinus in the following features: external nares elongate; postorbital bifurcate; jugal with rounded ventral flange; nasal bifurcation is more pronounced in juveniles; caudolateral process of premaxilla lingulate, forming majority of cranial crest in lateral view in adult specimens. |
