Taxonomy
Scaldicetus antwerpiensis was named by Du Bus (1872). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Anvers, which is in a Miocene/Pliocene marine horizon in Belgium.

It was synonymized subjectively with Scaldicetus caretti by Abel (1905).
