Plateosaurus trossingensis

Taxonomy
Plateosaurus trossingensis was named by Fraas (1913). Its type specimen is SMNS 13200, a skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Trossingen - Obere Mühle (lower), which is in a Norian floodplain mudstone in the Löwenstein Formation of Germany.

It was synonymized subjectively with Plateosaurus integer by Huene (1915) and Fraas (1915); it was synonymized subjectively with Plateosaurus fraasianus by Seemann (1933), Müller-Stoll (1935), Kuhn (1939) and Steel (1970); it was synonymized subjectively with Plateosaurus longiceps by Galton (2001) and Galton and Upchurch (2004); it was considered a nomen nudum by Galton (1984).
