Valentinella was named by Tabuce et al. (2004). It is not extant. Its type is Valentinella vitrollense.
It was assigned to Lainodontinae by Gheerbrant and Astibia (2012); and to Zhelestidae by Tabuce et al. (2004) and Tabuce et al. (2013).
