Coluber hungaricus
Taxonomy
Zamenis hungaricus was named by Bolkay (1913) [informations on the type specimen are from Venczel (1994, Acta Zool. Cracov. 37(1))]. Its type specimen is HGI Ob-4464/Vt.76, a partial skull (a single right quadrate), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Polgárdi 2, which is in a MN 13 sinkhole /limestone in Hungary.
It was recombined as Coluber hungaricus by Rage (1984) and Venczel (1994).
