Taxonomy
Typothorax coccinarum was named by Cope (1875). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cerro Blanco, NMMNH L-918, which is in a Norian terrestrial conglomerate/sandstone in the Chinle Formation of New Mexico. It is the type species of Typothorax.
