Siphostichartus was named by Nigrini (1977) [Artostrobiid having four segments, ovate to spindle-shaped; mouth constricted, no terminal feet; vertical tube flared (duck-billed *) ; apical horn present.]. It was considered monophyletic by Nigrini (1977).
