Taxonomy
Siphostichartus was named by Nigrini (1977) [Artostrobiid having four segments, ovate to spindle-shaped; mouth constricted, no terminal feet; vertical tube flared (duck-billed *) ; apical horn present.]. It was considered monophyletic by Nigrini (1977).

It was assigned to Radiolaria by Nigrini (1977); to Artostrobiidae by De Wever et al. (2001); and to Nassellaria by Sepkoski (2002).
