Taxonomy
Hexapetalum was named by Eliasova (1975) [Sepkoski's age data: J Kimm-u Sepkoski's reference number: 829]. It is not extant. Its type is Hexapetalum impium.

It was assigned to Amphiastraeidae by Eliasova (1975); and to Scleractinia by Sepkoski (2002).
