Skrzycki 2015Dipnoan with massive skull having three single median bones and three mediolateral bones; E and C separated by an anterior fenestra; I and AB forming the posterior calvarium, but emarginated along the posterior edge; descending process of KLM having a single deep-angled slot for articulation with the ascending pterygopalatine process, which is covered laterally; no articulation between the ascending process and bones of the medial series; calvarial bones heavy and of even thickness throughout; ornament on calvarial bones absent; tooth plates triangular and high-crowned with wide pulp cavity; limited mantle dentine visible on occlusal surface; short radiating ridges originate anteriorly; five to six ridges on upper tooth plate, four
to six on lower; upper tooth plates close or contiguous in the midline, lower close; upper symphysis oblong, lower linear; ascending process of pterygopalatine bone originating above the second ridge of upper tooth plate or between second and third ridges; petrodentine absent.
