Palaeophis colossaeus

Taxonomy
Palaeophis colossaeus was named by Rage (1983). Its type specimen is MNHN.F.TGE 614, a set of vertebrae (mid-trunk vertebra), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Butte de Tamaguilelt (MNHN collection), which is in a Ypresian marginal marine phosphorite in the Tamaguélelt Formation of Mali.
