Lamellophyllia was named by Chevalier (1961) [Sepkoski's age data: T Mi Sepkoski's reference number: 658]. It is not extant. Its type is Lamellophyllia alloiteaui.

It was assigned to Dendrophylliidae by Chevalier (1961); and to Scleractinia by Sepkoski (2002).
