Taxonomy
Keramidomys anwilensis was named by Engesser (1972). Its type specimen is NMB Al. 247, Switzerland, a mandible (Mand. dext. with i, m1 and m2). Its type locality is Anwil, Baselland, which is in a MN 7 + 8 fluvial-lacustrine horizon in Switzerland.

B. Engesser 1972 | Medium in size with lophodont, four-rooted teeth. Mesolophid very short. Transverse ridge of lower molars slightly interrupted and shifted to the labial half of the tooth. The 4. external re-entrant angle (4. Aussensynklinale) of M inf. reaches far to the labial side; Hypoconid is not elongated. The outer groove (Aussenbucht) only little directed backward, it is nearly symmetrical. The both most anterior salient angels are bent anterior. |
